    Maladu | Ma Ladoo

    by Nisha

The third post in the series of "easy" Diwali sweets is this Maladu. Once again a simple recipe for novice cook who wants to impress family at festival times. The past two posts this and this, had lots of notes and suggestions to make it right. But for this one I cannot think of anything. As such it is a straight and efficacious recipe. Even those attempting it for the first time may get it perfect.
    Maladu | Ma Ladoo

Small balls of powdered roasted gram and sugar mixture.

Hope you had enjoyed all the three posts and don't wait to try it!

    Maladu | Ma Ladoo

    Maladu | Ma Ladoo

    Maladu | Ma Ladoo

Small balls of powdered roasted gram and sugar mixture.

    Prep Time: 10 Mins | Cook Time: 5 Mins | Total Time: 15 Mins | Yields: 9-10

    Ingredients

    • 1 Cup Roasted Gram
    • ½ Cup Sugar
    • ¼ Cup Melted ghee
    • Few broken cashews
    • Pinch of cardamom powder

    Instructions

    1. Grind the roasted gram to a fine powder. In a kadai or non stick, roast this for a minute or two. Do not allow it to change colour, just roast till it is aromatic.
    2. Powder the sugar and add this to the roasted mixture along with cardamom powder.
    3. Roast the cashews in a teaspoon of ghee and add this to the mixture.
    4. Melt the ghee. Pour this over the ground mixture and mix well.
    5. It might form lumps. Mix it gently with your hands and break them.
    6. As it is still warm, start making small balls out of it.
    7. Store it in an airtight container for a couple of weeks.
